“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?” The truth is, I really knitted Sherlock Holmes socks. A friend of me and my wife asked me for cosy knitted socks. I knew that she likes the new Sherlock episodes with Benedict Cumberbatch and I wanted to make somethong new. Just knitting socks is something I really love, but what can become boring after some pairs. So I decided to “spice” the socks with some duplicate stitches.
At the top of the socks I decided to go with a simple fair isle pattern.
At first I finished the socks. I already had the Sherlock pattern in mind, so I made a beige stripe on one sock.
Afterwards I added duplicate stitch. I made the name Sherlock and his adress, the famous Baker Street 221b.
