I know a knitted dead parrot when I see one, and I’m looking at one right now. Nononono, no, no! ‘E’s resting! So many legendary quotes in just one sketch. It was an obligation to knit a dead parrot to create another knitted Monty Python piece for my geek blanket. I’ve been using intarsia again to create the Monty Python parrot. To stand out the wing I used the double stitch technique. Furthermore I can guarantee that this parrot is not resting. He has ceased to be and will rest on my geek blanket. No parrot was harmed, he was already dead when I knitted him.
You don’t know the sketch? Watch it! Now!
Monty Pythons Silly Walk, rather silly and knitted
My first knitted Monty Python project was the silly walk. My all time favorite Monty Python sketch! For me this sketch makes life easier, because it shows how silly and meaningless some thing in life are and how serious some people take it.
For those who don’t know it:
